The Dead Leaves, This Must Be The Place
Label mates with the likes of The Temper Trap and Little Red, The Dead Leaves sound has come quite far in the 2 years they have been together, with what seems like a rather polished debut album on the way, the guys (fronted by song writer Jow Gow) will find it hard to escape references and comparisons to other bands, especially The National. Did I mention the National? Good.
Anyways, once your passed the over familiar sound, the song does kinda stand up on it own, they fact that the sound is instantly familiar kinda gives me high hopes for the album, and also worries me a little. Which is due out in the coming months. Could be something to watch out for.
