Maxine Kauter Band sets “Alibech the Hermit” free
Sydney based folk rock chanteuse releases her much anticipated album and we can’t believe she’s giving it away for free!
Sydney is rich in good singer/songwriters but there are a select few that really know what they are doing. Nearly two years ago we already knew how captivating Maxine was before we even heard her. Her fans are loyal and it’s no question that her music has been winding round hearts for a lot longer than we know. At Raval this Thursday 17th March, Maxine Kauter officially sets her album “Alibech the Hermit” free into the world. Literally. Every audience member to this event receives an album so you don’t have to be rich to experience this beautiful piece of work.
There is not one mediocre song on this seven track album. The arrangement of the songs are well thought out with each section gently leading you through a lush forest of haunting samples and catchy guitar riffs in one and cheerful keys in another. The title track ‘Alibech the Hermit’ is poppy but unobtrusive and sincere. A stand out track ‘Inside Down’ starts off as a dark, country-tinged ballad but ends like a pop/90s rock hit that will surely get you on your feet. There are many melancholy moments in her songs a-la-Damien Rice and a dash of Jeff Buckley. However, these are the moments that really make the bright changes in her songs so captivating. A moment of reflection to great moments of inspiration.
“Alibech the Hermit” takes the listener on a soul-enriching journey that anyone can sympathise with and its hard not to become another loyal fan. So catch Maxine Kauter band at the Raval and grab yourself an album to listen for yourself. Maxine will be playing with a six piece band and having some very special guest vocalists in the form of Zoe Vaughan and Brett Every. Supported by Manger (Zoe Vaughan and Brian Campeau) and James Edgar Francis.
