Michael Wheatley, Higha Higha
You have to hear the finished Dirty Carpet Disco Band’s album. Its as funky as it gets, and as potent as a 21 year old russian vodka drinking partner teaching you how take a shot directly through your eye ball. Way more than you would expect if you were to look at the song writer in person, Michael Wheatley is about as skinny as a white guy can get. Once he sits behind his rhodes your suddenly hit with those feelings you get from cats like Sly Stone and Aretha Franklin. Thats not to say Michael doesn’t have his own thang going on, his lyrics and melodies will stay with you once you turn the CD off. Your gonna stop what your doing, start dancing and if the venue is smart enough to hook the band for a residency, your coming back the following week.
After what has been a simply huge wait you can now purchase the entire album from itunes. The release includes live classics like Little Miss Hottie and Higha Higha(attached below). Mike is as indie as it gets, he now has his own studio and is concentrating on his tunes pretty solidly, as this is one of several projects he has going on.
