| Other Info | ![]() This line up is so damn good I could just melt. Raymann and Declan Kelly are gonna show you what it means to have soul... Here's a little about Raymann Three if you didn't know already.....and if you knew nothing? Shame shame shame >:(... So listen.... Since the band's sold-out debut album launch and subsequent 30-date national tour in Spring 2008, The Ray Mann Three's dynamic live show has earned the band spots supporting international acts such as Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Jamie Lidell and Roy Ayers, and local acts ranging from Ash Grunwald and The Bamboos to Kate Miller-Heidke and Holly Throsby. After leaving his role of longtime lead guitarist in Kid Confucius, singer/songwriter Ray Wassef went on with bassist Byron Luiters (who now also plays with John Butler Trio) and drummer Bart Denaro (since replaced by Grant Gerathy) to release a debut album, "The Ray Mann Three": recorded in three days, produced by Tony Buchen, the album blends soul, jazz and hip-hop with timeless songwriting that calls to mind D'Angelo, Al Green, The Beatles and The Roots, and perfectly captures the band's warm, intimate sound. Declan headlined the second Sin-e ever! with his sis Ngaire. So he is very much apart of Sin-e history and it is still one of the best performances we've seen at sin-e to date. Here's a bit more about him.... Declan Kelly is an intuitive music maker who sings, plays drums and composes delicate songs that show influence in his new Album "Adrift" with Polynesian melodies, Irish Folk and the traditions of Reggae and also the bitter sweet strains of Africian American soul. Winner of the Blues and Roots Act at the 2008 Music Oz Awards, Declan's New album Adrift - a pure offering in the roots reggae genre - just released by Vitamin Records April 6, 2009. Showing subtle tinges of the influence of Afro beat, Kelly’s 11-track album spotlights Declan Kelly’s earthed and urbane approach to song writing as he speaks about love, peace, relationships and death. |
